how do i put a fence on top of a brick wall?

i have a brick wall bordering my property with privacy provided by some lalandi trees. i want to get rid of the trees but keep privace, hence needing to get a fence on top of the wall (it is thick enough). i have looked at the fence post anchors for bolting to a concrete floor but am concerned that these will split the bricks and therefore not provide a sound base for the fence. any ideas?
