we bought 5 - 6'x8' privacy fence panels and 5 - 6' 4x4's. we need to install the privacy fence on a slight incline. will these boards work? or do we need longer 4x4's?

the general rule of thumb is that when you go with 6 foot fencing at minimum you would want to buy 4x4 posts at 8 feet tall...taking 1/3 of the height of the fencing, which is 2 feet. that means that 2 feet of the posts must be below ground level for proper support. for extra stabililty you could go with 10 foot 4x4's and bury 3 feet, but then your looking at having to take a saw to cut off the remaining extra 1 foot of post. hope this helps! :)
