have about 6ft tounge and groove slat backyard fence with cement/or concrete posts that hold the slats in place. was wondering what would be the easiest way of adding a compressed wood extension to the fence....the compressed wood seems to be heavy....and sometimes have some heavy winds, due to living 1 mile away from the beach....i plan on reenforcing the the compressed wood with 2x4s ....most the reason for neighborly privacy, and also hope to deter dog from being able to jump over fence....can i some how attach wood framing to existing concrete posts i guess you call them, or should i add more posts the concrete post.section is basically approx 4 in thick by 1ft 3 3/4 in length by 8 inch wide... I'm thinking of anchoring some bolts to hold the new posts for the extension....or set posts with concrete that are 3 3/4 inch wood post behind concrete fence work in middle of wood slats .....in doing that i would have to take up gap between post and new compressed wood fence ext6ension.....i was also thinky of taking out a slat to recess the extension into concrete foundation....i'm sure what kind of screws, bolts to use in attaching compressed wood to 2x4's and or post......and if the compressed wood will be sturdy enough...i'd say the compressed wood is 1/2 in ch to 3/4 inches thick......any ifo would be grat or a link to similar project would be great thank you
I'm not sure how to post a picture on here. it may be easier to understand visually...if any body knows how to post pitures could you let me know......and if
