How to install Invisible Fences? | |
· Make a map of the lot lines on some piece of paper. Mark the location of the house within these lot lines. Decide where your transmitter box for your invisible fence kit should be located (usually next to a power source). Mark the perimeter of your fence line.
· Using neon spray paint, mark the position of your fence line.
· Use a spade shovel to dig a trench in your yard underneath the places you spray-painted. The trench need not be very wide or deep. Three inches wide by three inches deep should be fine.
· Attach an end of your wire onto one of two ports found on your transmitter box. Uncoil the wire gradually and put it in the just completed trench. Should you run out, you could attach another roll with a wire nut, a soldering of the two ends, not forgetting to cover it with the electrical tape.
· Having laid all the wire, connect the other wire end to the other port in your transmitter box. That should make a loop circuit around the yard.
· Plug in and turn the transmitter box on. If you have hooked the fence correctly, it ought to complete a circuit. Test this circuit by holding your dog’s collar over this wire line (do not touch the electrode ends). If this collar beeps, you’ve made a complete circuit.
Using a shovel, place dirt over this exposed wire. Do not leave anything uncovered.
